The animations, dynamic cameras that pack more punch to matches, the “Cabalvision” design of the interface and corrosive commentators Jim Johnson and Bob Bifford (who made a noteworthy appearance in the game’s first video teaser) faithfully recreate the thrills and fury characteristic of Blood Bowl’s intense matches. Good looking interpretation of the classic boardgame Blood Bowl.
Bloodbowl 2 is an interpretation of the boardgame by games workshop. It plays in the warhammer universe and each player controls a team. It is a turn based game, each player gets to move their team and watch the moves played out, and once your turn is over the other team gets its moves. There is a tournament mode, and in this mode your team gains experience and gets new stats and abilities with the experience gain, players also can get hurt and get penalties. All in all a good interpretation and re-imagination of the classic board game, and always someone to play against online. Beware though, one match takes about an hour to play through! So it is a time consuming game.

    A skill-based luck game
This game is a mix of the warhammer universe and American football.
Normally I do not like sports games, however I would not characterize this game as a sports game.
Matches are won by skill and by luck. Almost all actions involve some kind of dice rolling, sometimes you succeed, sometimes you dont. Not every player will like this mechanic, since there is not much you can do when the dice is against you. However, a skilled blood bowl player tries to play around this. The game is easy to pick up, but hard to master.

    Niche but Great
First let me tell you what other reviewers have stated before. This game is filling a niche. On top of that It bassically is nothing new. It is Blood Bowl and if you want to compare it to its predecessor it seemingly does not measure up to those.
The Bloodbowl 1 Chaos Edition has dozens of teams more available to play than the second installment. That is a clear cut fact.

But the base game did not. When Blood Bowl 1 was released it offered not really much more. Only a slightly different line up of teams.

This new game looks better and plays better than the predecessor. The netcode is better and atleast I did not experience major problems playing this in multiplayer.

So if you like the idea of football being played by fantasy races and a lot of brutality going on while they are at it. This game is for you. If you expect a game for all this is not for you. You will have to learn it. Learn the rules. This is based on a tabletop game and those rules are represented in this game. With slight chances. I can not fathom why. Still it is a great and fun experience. The commentators are hillarious in my view.

Decent game that fills a particular niche
This game is not for everyone, and requires patience akin to playing board games like chess. The gameplay is slower than I'd like, and I do not recommend this game to players who are not used to board games.

    Great game!
Having not played the first blood bowl I really like the game. Even though it can be very frustrating at times, winning a game gives great satisfaction. So I would really recommend the game, even though some people don´t seem to like it.

    More of the same
This new installment of Blood Bowl is just more of the same, or rather less of the same, the commentators are worse, there are no single player campaign and the stadium audience is just bad copy paste models.
