Beginning of an amazing Game Series
The Witcher is an amazing series. I first got interested with the books (which are like prequels to the games) and i wanted to know more about Geralt and the other characters (Yennefer, Triss etc...) after the books and the game offered this. If you are looking for a new series to play or played other RPG's like Mass Effect or Dragon Age than i highly recommend The Witcher series!!

    Older RPG
I enjoy older RPGs, but this is the only one I've played that actually feels dated. I'm a huge fan of the Witcher series, I've read the novels, and played through TW2 & TW3 countless times. Do not expect the quality of this game's sequels, as it is just not there. This game feels like a dumbed down version of KOTOR, assumedly because it runs on a dumbed down version of the engine BioWare used to use. Combat is rather boring, and the only time it engages me is when it doesn't work right and annoys me.

Many will say that in the Game's defense, the story and quests are very well written. To that i say hogwash. Many of the quests are very poorly written, shoehorn in sex, or just have boring premises. The main quest writing is decent, and there are a few characters that are interesting and fun (Siegfred, to name one).

Now, while A LOT of the quests are very bad, the quests that ARE done right are actually entertaining. These are few and far between, and the things that do make them entertaining are usually the charcters or the choices that the game provides. A few questlines have segments that require a major decision, and a thing I love about the game is how it really remains gray. It is not clear what is right or wrong, and you must decide which is the lesser evil. Many other games claim this feature, but usually after you make said decision the truth will be revealed through a conversation or a scene showing you were wrong and fell for the bad choice. Not The Witcher. You truly have to think about the decisions you make, and the parties that you will affect through your choices. Many of these quests are very obvious rip offs from the series of books this franchise is based on, but are entertaining nonetheless.

I recommend this game, but ONLY to fans of the Witcher franchise. It contains a few interestng segments, and it's story and characters are referenced throught the next two games, but is overall boring and mundane with a few highlighted segments. If you're new to the franchise, you'd be better off picking up TW2. For the most part, this feels like a game that had a good team behind it and had a good vision of what they wanted this game to be, but didn't quite know how to implement it (this WAS their first game, and they did not recieve much funding) resultng in a barely average product.

Great game even after nearly 10 years
Understanding that this game have almost 10 years we can say that it is a masterpiece. And even playing it today is a great game at prices of laughter.

If still not what you have, take it without hesitation. It is a good way to start or replay the saga I'm also playing in 4 k... A finesse, and a few graphic details that many games today would like to day.

Whit dragons gaming all excellent fast shipping and very fast download. Thank you :D

    good game, but some flaws
Overall this is a strong entry in the Witcher series but is ( very naturally) not as good in graphics and game mechanics as the Witcher 2 and 3. Gameplay is a bit wonky at times but overall fun . Strongly recommend to play all games in the series for full enjoyment!

The game that introduced me to Geralt of Rivia, master witcher and straight up bad .

Its funny but one of the things that i remember most about this game is the ambient dialogue when Geralt enters a village.

    "WItcher!!, Hide your women".

Unfortunately they didnt do a very good job as in the first installment i ploughed my way through the game, farmer's wifes, Barmaids, vampire's, sorceresses, medics, NUNS, Witches...you get the picture.

But sexual conquests aside it is still a very good game. Im one of those weirdos who actually enjoyed the combat, the different fighting styles and the ability to upgrade each style was wonderful.

The story takes its time to get off the ground but once it does it takes off running and pulls you along. There are some great side quests as well, "What lies Beneath" is still one of my favourites from the entire trilogy.

Its really a no brainer it goes on sale nowadays for 2 bucks....2 ..and you get an easy 40 hour game out of it which still holds up today.
